The greatest Power

Once burned, twice shy.
But you've been burned so many times.
And it's sad that the wonder in your eyes
has taken leave tonight.
But I know what you're going through.
In fact, I walk this path with you.
And we shall yet be surprised
at the mountains of fear that love can move

Well Worth the Wait

I've lived through so many curses
that I'm scared of being blessed.
God don't let my cynicism
rob me of what's next.
Change this gloomy fate
of discontent and hate
to a joy that makes the sorrow
well worth the wait.

The Music that the Ocean Makes

Someday soon we'll say goodbye
to our hurried, worried lives.
We'll drive till we find
indigo waves
beneath a tangerine sky.
And I can't wait
to simply stay up late
and listen to the music
that the ocean makes
with you.

Not Through

We have cause to be grateful
If there is breath in our lungs
For what good becomes
Of being disdainful?
We have cause to be grateful
If there are songs to be sung
And people who need to be loved.
God save us from being hateful
And if your eyes are tired
As mine sometimes are
Keep moving ahead
For there is much to be desired
And just maybe joy isn't very far
God's not through with you yet

Overflow

I want to love life.
I want to overflow with joy.
God please hear me when I pray
that I get the most out of every day.
Help me put the past behind
as I rest in the knowledge
of your grace.

Seasons Past

Thinking back on moments shared together
She was this close to being my Mrs.
Recalling tight hugs and apology letters
Late nights and passionate kisses
Early on I almost knew it would last
I wasn't playing games, but the feelings passed
There is no time for my regrets
My goodness, how things can change so fast
But I still remember every now and then
Our season of love that came and went
Like the setting sun or seasons past
But the sun it always rises again
